Thanks for the advice. I've worked in that neighbourhood (for the Quebec gov't) for three years and have had no bad experiences. There happen to be a lot of government buildings in that area in addition to the other less savoury parts.

Neko, may I know the initial for your first name?  If u are caucasion+female, a friend P is wondering if u are someone we know!

Jardin Nelson好像不是正宗的法国菜吧？Le Paris虽然正宗，但菜式比较casual，据说拿手的是动物内脏和鱼。
我在网上找了两家据说是“best of montreal”的法国餐馆（L'Express, Au Petit Extra），可惜圣诞假期不营业。
各位还有别的推荐吗？

All correct! For friends who want to try French food, go to any of the 3 above. When there's NO festivity, prices of le Paris is good. If it is a date, then 老港的“Jardin Nelson", go for your romantic walk after.

Can't remember details on prices. Think L'Express is most expensive but the food's worth it.  Don't like waiters, too snobby.

新年来点特别介绍，介绍给楼主特别的一间：非～洲～餐～ ！ 味道很好，绝对值得一试！地址：5690 AVE Monkland. Tel: 488-8620. 当初和一位朋友去，一听是非洲菜，给俺来句话：“非洲有东西吃吗？” ～～倒～～！不过想想也在理儿～～ 不过隆重介绍这间的手抓饭，多汁味偏浓，绝对适合国人口味。

另外可上www.montrealplus.ca 上面有很多餐厅详情，圣诞大伙儿不愁没地儿过～～ Merry XMAS！！
