Gas mileage became bad immidiately after it got fixed with the problem of leaking gax around the gas filter area.
Details: After full tank, start engine, found gas leaking severely. after driving some time, i.e., tank not full any more, no leaking found. the garage checked and said it is the gas filter leaking. They put a metal clamp around the plastic pipe coming out from the gas filter immidiately in contact with the filter. Then the problem got fixed. But, gas comsumption rose from 8 L/100km to 10 L/100km. that was last fall. Now in winter, it is almost 13 L/100km. All the people said that it has nothing to do with gas filter. But why? Is it totally co-incidence? And what is the reason? the dealer told me it may cost $250 CDN to do engine ture-up. Besides the price, I also doult if that is the right solution. who can tell me? if no more gas leaking,try to do like this :1.check spark plug if no good change.2.try to put super gas.3.normally in winter time burn more gas .
