家被盗。该怎么办？

兄弟不幸，今天回家发现被盗。该怎么办？要报警吗？还是找保险公司？请赐教。感谢。

I really feel sorry to hear about it again. I have the same miserable experience as you. I called 911 and they just record it and cannot do anything else. If you bought houseing insurance before, you can contact your insurance company. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is just being careful after this!

我认为应先报警，报告自己家被盗，警察会勘察现场，填写报告，然后去保险公司理赔。

Thanks for all your tips. I called 911 and a policeman came. Like you all know, the police did not care about the traces of the thief(s) at all. I remember in China the police at least pretend to take some samples (e.g. finger print). Anyway, I just recover from this misfortune.
Could you tell me what I should pay attention to when making a claim to the insurance company? I heard that cash is not covered. If I don't have bill for sth that is stolen (e.g., clothes or stuff bought in China), how can I provide evidence to the insurance company? I have some special coins (e.g., canadian 50c) that are stolen. How will the insurance company estimate the value of these rare coins? Thanks.
