Hi,

If I lived with my boyfriend (not common law partner) in an apartment, but I pay all the rent fees.  His name show up in the rent lease also.  Can I claim the credit for "a person living alone" still?  If not, is there any other tax credit I can benefit from?

Sure! When filing the 2004 incom tax return of Quebec, you can claim the property tax credit either by yourself or your non-common law partner, but not by both of you. If you are entitled to a refund of property tax credit, you may also share it with your non-common law partner, depending on your share of the rent as well as his choice whether he would take it.
