I enjoyed the performances.
For some reasons, the final song "No matter what" didn't come out
as good as I heard him sing in front of the Montreal trust center last summer
I suspect that it was due to the tuning of the sound system last night
or maybe the microphone was a bit too close to the face.
There was a small persistent echo,
so the music didn't come out crispy.
This is something that you guys should pay attention to
as in a close competition, it can affect the final outcome.
The song "No matter what" is a soft, romantic song
and great for quiet listernning.
Some enthusiastic supportes, with good intentions to show appreciation,
clapped along during the performance,
but that actually ruined the mood of the song to a certain extent.
Clapping along is great for up-tempo songs
but rarely for low-key love songs.
The runner-up "Fusion a capella" is also excellent.
I think that the group's musical style is more gospel
while black bird's is more pop-oriented.
Both teams were very good.
Either team can be the worthy winner.
It all comes down to your own musical preference
and which side has the bigger fan base.
The high turnout of Black bird's fans tipped the balance.
Congratulation!
One small note.
During the vote counting for "Fusion a capell",
before the organizers asked people to lower their voting cards,
a few persons pitched their cards across the room,
with some cards almost hitting others.
I don't know what the intentions were
but it was poor sportsmanship and could cause chaos,
not to mention unfair to the vote-counting for the other team. |
