Yes they do ship cars. Check with your local movers. But it is quite costly. If you move during the summer, and if you love travel by car, I would suggest you drive to Montreal. I am in Minneapolis, and I plan to drive to Montreal, of course, it is much closer for me. Good luck!

Forget that stupid idea!! I suggest you sell the car in LA and get a new one in canada. Trust me. It will cost you at least US$3000 for the shippment.

To ship a car to China takes about 1000$US, so it may be cheaper, from LA to MTL. There are someone(company)who can drive your to any major city in NorthAm, if you like, check it out on local newspaper.
