Right, if someone wants to pay to learn english in Canada, why the hell he or she come to Canada at first place. He or she could stay in China and learn english there. It is cost effective staying in China.

好像这位朋友说的不对。 Tony 不是承包CELT部分，听说他是新东方现任校长。

我的一个朋友在他那里学过托福，50小时课程，作文满分。

You can go to a public library to get these information, or search Google. Why pay money ???????

新东方还是有一定作用的。获取一些信息，有和同学们交流的机会，对于自律能力不强的朋友可以督促自己一下。

比如说，你从新东方的老师或同学那里了解了一个网站，下载了一些有用的学习资源，可能会节省你一个月的时间。时间就是金钱，效率就是金钱。这是我的切身体会。

借助于新东方，但是不能完全依靠它。新东方并不能保证任何东西。关键还是要靠自己。在学习英语的方法问题上，没有对错之分。大家提供自己的意见，自己的心得。而你要根据自己的需要、性格特点和学习习惯有所取舍，并在实践的过程中不断印证，不断改进，寻找适合自己的方法。

I learned English for 6years during my secondary school period...
and i still remember I could speak nothing out on the first day I came here...
6 years is not a short time.....
think about that........ think about the reason ....

Dear little sister:


I understand your situation. Do not worry. There are three good ways to learn English: 1) read a lot of newspapers and journals everyday with a dictionary on hand, watch a lot TVs, 2) go to coffee shop to talk to old ladies, (do not talk to men, unless you can control yourself), and 3) go to public and universities' libraries to read English exam books and test materials.

I believe you will succeed with your effort and persistence.
