Help! Any one know what bioinfomatics speciality is in universite de Montreal. Is it very dificult to learn. What about the future and job Macket potentials for bioinformatics.  :rolleyes:

for me, I have MSc(china) in medical science and BSc in computer science in canada. so I am thinking about it would be suit me.
for the job i donot very care due to I could go back china or somewhere else.

When did you begin studying bioinformatics in Concordia?It seems all students are under Prof.GREGORY BUTLER's supervision.

I started my Ph. D. program last fall, and just wirtten the comprehensive test.Nest step should be
looking some area to begin my thesis reseach.

My supervisor is Prof Lam, how ever Prof Butter is also giving me some guide.

I am a CS based student, and have no bio-background at all, hope we could help each other in the study.

hi,
compare with you i am a very newbie. i am going to study at mcgill from this fall. righ now i am thinking about which topic i would follow. the bioinformatics is one. i came from medical background and get huge interest in cs and just finish the under prog couple of months ago.
eventhough grasping some computer knowlege, i am still afraid if I can fight in this area. I have not very solid mathmatics base so could you give some suggestions? i ve research some information related bioinformatics but i am still not very confident.
if possible maybe we could talk around your place.
