any financial institution (i.e banks, insurance companies...) is under the leadership of CEO (chief exctive officer, or #1 of the company)
2 key executive works under CEO, (vp finance (sometimes called cfo), and vp secretary)
3 key officer work under cfo (chief investment officer, chief actuary and chief controller)
chief actuary is appointed by the board, and report directly to the board. he works under ceo, but only responsible to the board. in a nutshell, accountants dealing with taxation, financial reports and financial management. actuaries works with risk management, reserve calculation and pricing. very different job. |
