上周五买了一辆车 （passat 99)， 想去garage Check，然而去了几家garage 都满了， Dealer 说这车一点问题都没有。 可是星期天就发现check Engine 灯亮了。 星期一去vw Dealer 检查， 发现air Pump 进水了， 要花600 刀， 今天检查又发现前轮arms 也坏了， 要壹千刀。 Garage 说， Dealer 应该负责认。 这样很危险， 在高速上轮子会跑掉。 还有一些小问题－－空调坏了， Cruise Control 也坏了， 还有刹车。。。
想退车， 可dealer 不同意， 请问各位同胞，我该怎么办？

Hi同胞们， thanks your guys concern! The thing has been settled down. I returned the car to the dealer and got all my money back.

Here, I especially want to thanks Carman who help me to check VIN number and offer me some free information. Also, thanks to s2008 for your kindly information.

Buying used car is really a tough decision and may cost you a big fortune. Here I would like to share some important experience.

1. Get the car checked by someone or somewhere you trust, for no matter what reason, before you buy the car and keep the checking report.
2. Don't go to SAAQ right way after you buying the car from dealer. Wait the longer the better, normally you have 10 days.
3. Remember, you have 30 days guarantee for the car. It means if you found problems that could not be found when you try the car as a consumer not expert of car.
4. The best (I think) organization who can help you when you have problem with dealer. It is non-profit organization and more effective than OPC. They gave me a lot of useful information such as my rights as a consumer.

5. Not depends on VIN number check only, sometimes it doesn't work.

SAAQ has several places for checking used cars. I went to one of them which on the De La Savan. I can't remember the street number. Maybe some people who go to SAAQ can get that information. Go to the reception, ask for a list of SAAQ official garage for checking used cars.
I know that place because I want to transfer the plate of Ontario to Quebec. SAAQ ask me to do the checking at that place. It is a very complete checking for a used car. I know Taxi are required to do the checking every half year. The main checking includes engin, mechanic, etc., maybe not the water in air pump problem.
I will buy the used car that passes the SAAQ official checking.
It's not expensive at all compare to your invest to a used car, between 70$-80$. If you find any defect after you buy the car, it is at least 100$.
You can ask the seller to do the checking, or you do the checking yourself. Make sure you get all the result if the car passes the checking.
For a used car to pass that test, normally it needs 1000$ -2000$ to repair.

Because of this checking( I paid 70$ ), I didn't get my car transfered because I need around 1000$ to repair it. My car only worthes 2500$ at that time. So I drive my Ontario car in Montreal for years until some day, Oops, a Montrealer hit my parking car and run. It heavily reduced the value of my car. Dumped it to a garage, get 400$.
