AM I ENTITLED TO VOTE?
To vote, you must be domiciled in the territory of Montréal, appear on the list of electors and meet the following conditions :
Be 18 years of age or older as of November 6, 2005 ;
Have been a Canadian citizen since September 1, 2005 ;
Have been domiciled in Montréal since September 1, 2005 ;
Have been domiciled in the province of Quebec since March 1 2005 ;
Not be under curatorship.
If you are not domiciled in Montréal, you can still vote if you have met at least one of the following conditions since September 1, 2004 :
Sole owner of an immovable located in Montréal;
Sole occupant of a business establishment located in Montréal;
Undivided co-owner of an immovable or the co-occupant of a business stablishment located in Montréal, if you have been designated by a majority of co- owners or co-occupants, as the case may be under a power of attorney filed with the returning officer.
You must also meet the following conditions :
Be at least 18 years of age;
Be a Canadian citizen.
You must file a written application for entry with the returning officer. |
