This week, a recruiter told me that a good presentation convinced them that I was the right candidate for a new job. I have my students to thank for this, since you let me practice my oral English and teaching skills with you. :cool:

I have enjoyed many fun experiences with new Chinese friends this year, including lessons from ski instructor Roy last night, thanks!

Due to the new job, I may have to reduce my skating schedule after the middle of March. However, now is your chance to skate with my group..even get one on one coaching, for a great deal. Of course, I am also hungry to try your delicious Chinese dish...

caribe2003, I suppose if you say you must drop classes it means your new job is full time? You could lose money from the courses, get a DISC and then when will you be able to complete the credits?
We can discuss more about my situation as it develops, but yes, I plan to study and work at same time.

Now back to answering questions about the skating lesson..

Arena Bill Durnan is an indoor hockey rink. 14:00-16:00, it's open to public skate. Whatever is the weather outside, the ice is always good quality.

To prepare:
-drink water or tea before and during the lesson .. you will have more energy. No kidding...if you feel thirsty, you will become more tired.
-bring gloves & comfortable warm socks
-dress in normal winter jacket or for girls: wearing long Chinese coat is fine If you warm up, you can even skate with sweater only.

As a beginner, the first step is learning how to move slowly on the ice..you may feel like a child again, but that's okay! Learn to skate, step by step.

I just found a new place for free. Mon-Fri 16:00-17:00 Sat 12:30-14:30  Monkland center. Address: It is locate at the end of chemin de la cote-st-paul street. Another way to get there, De L'eglise and St Patrick interseciton, pass the small bridge.

Let me share an insider's tip:
As you know, a beginner will often need to rent skates. But I have not found many Montreal area arenas where you can find them. To my understanding, arenas in Verdun, Pointe St. Charles, St. Henri, etc. do not offer skates rental. So how can a beginner who lives in those areas learn without spending much money?

Simple, join my skating lesson and if you like it, be ready to exchange some skills. This way, you can improve your ability and save money too.
