good suggestions of learning english.
I add some points. Since we know that language is building block, but even we
have a strong language competence (vocabulary, grammar, syntax...), our performance is
still poor(spoken and written english, esp the content and quality of our
conversations).
so, read as much as possible, as broadly as possible. When you talk with people of
other cultures, you feel at easy and lack no topics.
usually no one excels at any topic, so learn to ask question. try to hit the head of
the nail when you ask. This can make conversations more interesting and much longer.
the last one is the most difficult one. i guess the quebecer is the king of jokes.
they like joking, and they joke all the time. try your best to understand them and
try tell your jokes also. this is an efficient way to make your relationship closer.
the same culture background brings cultural easiness and confidence. on the
street, we can always find some quebecers say hello to each other from a long
distance, then walk close and start to 'causer' with their special quebecer accent.
that's what we need to learn, for we need to do as Romains do. |
