蒙蒙:
Good question. For me, I have a job there that I can not find any whereless in Canada now. If I left QC my family's total income would be reduced. But I never stop to seak the opportunity outside of Quebec.
One more comment on bilingual issue. Someone said that Montreal is the best place to learn English and French languages. That is not true. Actually wether your kid can be bilingual dependes on your capability to access English education. Montreal does have a lot of bilingual persons but you have to know that most of them are Anglophone and the new generation of immigrants. Ordinary French Quebecers barely have real bilingual person. Why? English education is not freely accessed while French one is. And the English school teach much more French than the English taught by French school. There generally are two ways to access English education one is let your kid go to English private school then gained the right of enter English school. This will be closed soon. The PQ goverment will no longer allow you do this. The second one is sending your child to a good Frech private school at lest from secondary level. That means money! There also some Chinese students they do not attend any private school and speak both languages well. But you'd better to ask their parents how they educated their childre and how those students studied. Not every one can do that. Personally, I know some Chinese students who grown up in Montreal they speak some English but far from enough to attend a English university outside of Quebec. So, live in Montreal does not mean that your child will be naturally and automatically be bilingual. A good example is the ADQ leader Mr. Mario Domond. He is a French Quebecer. He even graduated from Concordia University. How good his English is!
Other thing you may interested is the Quebec's education system. The pre-university education is 13 years long and rest of canada are 12 years. And in Quebec, new immigrantions need to attend Welcome Class instead going to regular class directly. A lot of Chinese students have to stay in the some grad for two years (one in Welcome class and others in regular class. called double) simple because the French problem.
Bilingual in Quebec is expensive and not promising. It may cost your child's future.
Thanks for all of friends here, especially s-wt, I will reconsider all of your suggestions. Thanks again.
Anyway I will have a visiting there at least once, see how good or how bad is it.
Happy Valentine's day to everybody.
