negotiate with the landlord
The landlord is being unreasonable. You should negotiate with the landlord, tell him that either you move out before June without paying rent for that month, or you pay for June but just move out at the end of June. Actually it’s his choice, but he cannot have the rent and ask you moving out before June. Don’t worry about the deposit, which is illegal. If you have receipt for the deposit, you can ask the landlord to pay you back at any time.
As you say the landlord has already rent out your apartment for June, so if the landlord won’t agree to waive your rent for June, just leave something in your room until the end of June, and authorize your friend to call police if the landlord let others to enter your apartment! But the better way is you and the landlord both compromise to reach some agreement. Say, you pay just part of the rent for June and vacate the apartment. Good luck!

因为特殊情况这个星期就要回国了,但是lease是签到下个月底的,房租一年前写了十二张支票一起给的房东。也就是说有一个半月光付房租但是我们人并不住在这里。本来lease是这么签的付房租也是应该的,但是房东好像六月份已经把房子租出去了。也就是说我们付了房租,但是别的房客来住,而房东一个月收双份的房租。而且他们还急着要我们把剩下的一些东西在五月底前搬走,并想让我们在走前把六月的房租先付了,否则就不肯把一开始租房时的押金退给我们,说要下月的支票兑现后才能退。这种情况下我们有理由拒付六月的房租吗?有没有关于这方面的规定阿?? |
