Moovjam festival at Jean-Drapeau park this Saturday, August 26.

Exit at Jean-Drapeau metro station.
Take bus 167 or a short walk from the metro.
Moovjam is the first event designed to combat obesity in young people.
Its goal is to make youngster aged 5 to 17 aware of the importance of developing healthy eating habits and having fun by doing physical exercise.
1) a sports and physical activity village – Football, soccer, rock wall, obstacle course, yoga workshop, karate workshop, basketball workshop.
2) a nutrition village – Pizza spinning exhibition with world champion spinners.
3) an environment village.
Each zone will feature activities combining entertainment and awareness. Throughout the day, young people will be able to take part in a variety of sports activities and clinics, compete in a race over an obstacle course, discover new kinds of healthy food... in short, they'll have a lot of fun and learn something at the same time!
In addition, health experts will be on hand at the site to help parents and children identify the signs of obesity and give them advice on eating healthier and getting more active.
The Moovjam food area will offer a wide choice of food and beverages that are healthy alternatives.
There will also be a series of concerts to liven up the day, get kids dancing and entertain the whole family. Performers include:

2:45 – 3:15 Guiness world record – Unite to break the world record for the largest group to dance "Twist".
3:30 – 3:45 Dangers – This rock n’roll band competed in Supernova battle of the bands twice and won first place both times.
4:00 – 5:00 Hedley – The lead singer Jacob Hoggard was in the top 3 in the singing contest of Canadian Idol 2005.
5:00 – 5:30 Eye2eye – Theatrical Rap band.
5:45 – 6:30 Massari – R&B singer. His album is #6 on R&B chart.
