奇怪的加拿大法律，租的房子被邻居失火烧了，财产也没了，房东不赔，失火人不赔，难道就自己倒霉。如果这样，是不是房客对房东不满都可以失火烧房子，反正不担责任。

那位高人给个说法？

Not angry, it had happened.
Only thing you can do that checking the landlord's insurance policy, it must include $$ for building and $$ for the contents. i.e. furniture, private property etc...

You didn't buy property insurance, by law, you will get 0.
But you still can negotiate with landlord. Otherwise, never pay rent any more after he repairs everything, wait him sue you. Don't forget, take picture everyday and save it safely, that is evidence when you on court.

１。责任不在房东和房客，是由于无法预计的因素引起，所以为什么会有要上保险一说
２。故意烧房子是纵火罪，是违法的

我的公寓也找火了，来了100多各消防员。连夜我们全家被转送到了quality inn in C.D.N.我们住了5个晚上，还包饭。直到今天我才搬回来。不过房间了还有一些味道。所幸勿财产损失感触良多...canada is nice.

Red cross offer 3 night stay and full meals, $75/room/night, $50/person/day for food. We are 4 people, me, my husband, and my parents who are visiting. So we got 2 rooms, very nice.

But after 3 days, my janitor contacted the montreal government, they said we can stay for 3 days more because some of us, the apartments are totally damaged. It takes time for them to find new place. Actually for me, i was told i can go back my apartment. So my idea is that somebody has to stand out to talk. My janitor represents us, negociate with government. He even expects to get some compensation.
