Hi, Any body know the quanlity of LCD monitor of this model, I have just bought one from Staples today, everything works fine when I set the resolution to 1280 by 1024, but when I set the resoution to 1024*768, the font became very blurry. Has  anybody bought this model before.

Thank you for your reply, but sometimes I needs to set a lower resolution so that I can see the text message more clearly.
I think it does not make any sense that LCD only has a good view quanility for only one resolution setting, while others resolution has very poor settings.

I just tried a couple of others setting, It seems that some performance for 1152*864 are still good.

do you have any suggestions? I just bought this monitor today. should I refund it?

和CRT不大相同！传统的CRT显示器的显示是采用逐行扫描的方式，在分辨率上没有什么大问题；而液晶显示器的显示原理则完完全全与CRT显示器不一样。它是一种直接的像素一一对应显示方式。工作在最佳分辨率下的液晶显示器把显卡输出的模拟显示信号通过处理，转换成带具体地址信息（该像素在屏幕上的绝对地址）的显示信号，然后再送入液晶板，直接把显示信号加到相对应的像素上的驱动管上，有些跟内存的寻址和写入相类似。如果显卡上有DVI接口直接输出到液晶的数字接口上，这种全新的显示方式就没有任何像素损失，把显卡输出的信号完美地显示出来。但是，在显示小于最佳分辨率的画面时，液晶显示则采用两种方式来显示，一种是居中显示，比如最佳分辨率是1024×768的液晶显示器在显示800×600分辨率时，就只是以其中间那800×600个像素来显示画面，周围则为阴影，这种方式由于信号分辨率也是一一对应，所以画面清晰，惟一遗憾的就是画面太小；另外一种则是扩大方式，就是将800×600的画面通过计算方式扩大为1024×768的分辨率来显示，由于此方式处理后的信号与像素并非一一对应，虽然画面大，但是比较模糊。无论哪种显示方式都不理想.所以，分辨率差别不大时可能还好，否则就显得模糊了。

大多数普通液晶显示器只有一个最佳显示分辨率。这是由液晶显示器的结构决定的。最佳分辨率实际上也就是该显示器液晶面板的最大分辨率。在这个分辨率下，物理液晶点能够达到同显卡输出的逻辑点一一对应。例如，15吋液晶显示器的最大分辨率为1024*768，大多数网页制作也是以此为标准的；17吋液晶显示器的最大分辨率几乎都是1280*1024，而不是我们根据4：3比例推算的1280*960。这同17吋液晶显示器面板的制造工艺有关，简单说就是水平点距大于垂直点距的原因。这样，即使以后有17吋液晶显示器新产品标称最佳分辨率为1280*960的话，也不该感到奇怪。有些比较高档的液晶显示器，可以支持很高的分辨率，15吋就能达到1600*1200，这样该液晶显示器就可以拥有2个最佳分辨率：1600*1200和800*600，两者是整倍数的关系。只有一个最佳分辨率的液晶显示器，如果使用小于最大值的其他分辨率，会出现字迹模糊不清类似重影的现象。

I bought the same LCD as yours this month in Futureshop. The only clear resolution is 1280*1024. Almost all 17' LCD have the same specific clear resolution. The lower resolution, the blurries text. It is natural. So I set the moitor at 120DPI(the defalt is 96DPI). You can also set it at larger text, say 150 or 200, if you like. Right click your mouse on your screen, then choose "properties", "general". In the opened window, you can find "display", there is a pull down option for it: "96DPI, 120DPI, larger". You can choose 120, or "larger" and set a number, and then restart your computer.
