Look TV® requires the installation of a wireless digital antenna.
Look wireless digital technology is available in southern Ontario and Quebec. When you subscribe to Look TV® service, a Look technician will come to your home and ascertain whether or not your home is in an area in which it is technically possible to benefit from the advantages of owning a digital wireless antenna.
If so, the technician will install the antenna and cable wiring in your home. If you have pre-existing cable wiring, the technician can use it for Look digital wireless services, rather than installing new cabling.
If you have any technical questions during the installation process, the technician will be happy to answer them.
NOTE: The same digital wireless antenna is used for both Look TV® service and Look high-speed Internet service. So, if you are an existing Look high-speed Internet customer, no additional equipment is needed.
Digital Receivers:
For Look TV® to work, you require both a digital antenna and a digital receiver. The digital receiver is an essential piece of equipment that allows for the high level of customization offered by Look. If you wish to benefit from digital TV on several sets in your home, you must acquire a separate digital receiver for each television set.
How it Works:
1 Digital television and Internet signals are collected at our Master Headend in either Milton or Montreal
2 The signals are then transported to the transmission sites using high capacity fiber optic links
3 Once the digital television and Internet signals are received at the transmission sites, they are converted to microwave frequencies and are transmitted to customers’ homes
4 A small antenna is installed at the customer’s home to receive the microwave signals
5 A digital set top box is used to receive the digital television signals and a high-speed modem is used to send and receive the Internet data signals |
