Hey, guys,

I partitioned my hard drive and installed a linux system on D drive, but due to some reason the installation failed. Now I tried to restore the system but the d drive cann't be found by windows anymore. I think the Linux has formatted the D drive so it can no longer be recognized by windows. Does any one know how can I restore the D drive?

There was an application provided by the Linux to restore the partition, unfortunately one important file is missing.

So the computer gurus, please give some advices.

many thanks in advance.        frown

You can use Patition Magic to reconfigure your Disk.
You'd use P/M to allocate a primary patition on disk C for /root, maybe another one for /swap, the others can be on disk D.

that part must be changed to ext2 or ext3 filesystem format, so u may still find them by fdisk in windows, they r now non-dos partitions.........or if u still want to install linux again, the installer will find it for u..........good luck..
