我用的也是Bell的High Speed Edition,当时以为ADSL的带宽是独占的,可以保证1M的速率(我也不敢想2M),安装后Bell的技术人员说700Kbps以上是正常的,当时好象差不多。
但的确是去中国很慢,而且奇怪的一点是速率随时间变化而变化?上午一般可以达到900~1000Kbps,下午尤其是晚上8点以后,只能达到100~300Kbps,但有时后半夜1点以后又会达到900~1000Kbps。
最近周六、周日也慢,100K很正常。而且以前是去中国慢,现在有时去北美也慢。我是用Bell自己提供的网站测试的:

投述了三次,下面是本周一收到的答复,请大家过目。(本贴最后)
看过后我猜:可能最近来蒙城的中国人较多,大家又挺想家,而且还爱看个什么中国电影,当个什么中文软件之类。估计Bell没料到中国人这么爱国,所以给的出口带宽小了些。
又奇怪了,原来用Netzero和Juno也比这快啊?(指去中国)
曾经与波士顿的同学(Cable用户)比较过速度,http://www.speedtest.net/
他平均1Mbps,我平均0.2Mbps。
所以综上所述,劝大家在相同的费用下,用Cable比用High Speed好。
大家可以投述Bell,也可以抛弃Bell。我准备再等一个月。

provide the following information to ensure a speedy resolution of your Sympatico High Speed Edition(TM) technical issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing due to this localized issue that has impacted some of our members. Since September there has been a dramatic increase in usage of our services by our members.
In order to better serve our members, we are currently in the process of rapidly adding increased internet gateway capacity to address this unexpected increase in traffic and usage on our network. We are also selectively rerouting Internet traffic to servers that have greater capacity and are able to better handle this traffic increase.
A listing of results of specific operations conducted from your home computer would assist our Network Team in achieving a prompt resolution. This listing should include the following:
- Results of a speed test from http://fastweb.sympatico.ca/test
- Results of a traceroute to a popular Website (ex: www.yahoo.com)
- Ping results of the slowest hops on the traceroute with 1550b packets
- The IP address you are connected to at that time
- The last SMS you were connected to. To do so, please follow the steps below:
1. Click on Start/ Find/ Files or Folders. A window will open
2. In the Named field, type EnterNet.ini
3. In the Look in field, make sure C:\ is selected
4. Click on Find now. The file called EnterNet.ini will be displayed
5. Double-click on the file. It will open in Notepad. From the text, copy the last line as part of the information you will send to us
6. Close the Find window and Notepad. If Notepad asks you to save the changes, click on NO
- The time at which the slowdown occurs.
Should you have any difficulties in obtaining the above, we suggest that you call the Helpdesk at 310-SURF and an Agent will assist you.
Rest assured that our Network Team is working as quickly as possible to ensure that you have the best service possible. The raised Internet gateway capacity should be completed by December 1st and should address this unexpected increase in traffic and usage of our network.
