1. is your cd-rom SCSI interface? if yes, pls take off the SCSI controller card as well as the cd-rom. and change another slot on the data cable to plug in the hard disk.
2. if not, use a bootable disk to reboot and see if there are two files: autoexec.bat and config.sys on the root directory. if yes, remove any loading driver for cdrom. if they don't exist, then boot your computer in safe mode.
3. if still no luck, boot your computer step by step to see what is being loaded during boot time.
4. if all above don't work, disconnect to network and boot if it is originally connected.
5. finally, contact your network administrator to see if no hardware is allowed to be removed from your machine, since the server can detect any hardware change. |
