我现在的房屋租约是到2007年的7月1号，但是由于某种原因要在2007年5月1号搬倒别的城市去，而且那边已经签了新房屋租约。我在3月1号之前已经跟现在的房东说好5月1号要搬走，并且房东已经答应我自己转租房子。一直到现都没有找到合适的人愿意从5月1号承接我的房子。但在昨天房东却跟我说他已经跟另外的人签了房屋租约是从7月1号开始的，还要我交5月和6月的房租。象这种情况我该怎么办，我5月1号一定要搬走，难道我必须交5月和6月的租金吗？

是的，你必须交5、6月的房租。房东没有义务为你找房客，也没有房东愿意损失两个月的房租。你通知房东要搬的时间也只有两个月（3月通知，5月搬）。
要么掏两个月房租，要么找人sublet（哪怕是帖钱）。

唯一的办法就是和房东协商酌情少交一点，但房东是完全有权利不同意的。

可通情达理的房东会觉得在你不住的时候他可以利用这个期间整修一下房子等也许能通融一下。

My friends had the same issue as you. She has paper fax with the landlord where the land lord agree to rent the apt by herself. The landlord rented the apt 4 months later and wanted to ask my friend to pay her the 4 months rent. My friend went to court and won the case with the paper fax.

If you have any avidence that the land lorder had agreed to let you go and rent the apt. by him/herself, you don't need to worry anything
