If the wife files the tax returns, the husband will receive the following credits:
1) Federal: 7505*15.25% = 1144.51
2) Quebec: 9555*20% = 1911
That means the husband gets a total of 3055.41$ non-refundable tax credits transferred from the wife. It is a big amount. Your family can save at most 3055.41$ if the huaband has enough income to file.
If you meant a separation case of living apart for more than 90 days, no credits can be tranferred between spouses. But, the wife can receive an increased amount of CCTBs and other benefits due to the single family situation (if you have children). If I would have misunderstood your words, just forget what I said in this paragraph since I don't undertand what you mean by 分开报.

老公有收入, 妻子是housewife, 没有收入, 是一起报还是分开报为好? 如果妻子不单独报,是否影响申请牛奶金之类的福利? 谢谢 |
