大愚， 不要轻易批评别人。
你的方案系统分区太小了，一般程序都回在系统目录里面拷东西，很快系统目录就会超过你的大小。而且一般主要程序还是和系统放在一起的好，像office，这样便于查找，而且也少了每次都要制定目录的麻烦。还有通常交换文件也和系统放在一起，也会在系统分区占空间。所以我觉得5G给每个系统分区比较合适，注意一些不重要的程序安装是制定一下目录，不要和系统分区的重要程序(office,浏览器，信件等)放在一起。其他根据自己的爱好了。

看来这位“大愚 ”是愚了点，     kiding.
可能你的电脑里是空空的吧，或者只是理论上空想，否则要不了多久你就要用pqmagic增加空间了。
win98只有500兆左右，加office就要800兆左右了，加acrobat就要接近1G了，这还只是最基本的软件。加corel draw就要近1.5了。当然你可以把这些软件装在其他分区，但即使这样，要不了多久你的系统directory就要1.5G,随便找个装98有一段时间的电脑查查吧。同理可以论证给装winXP的。4G 装win2000一段时间也会不够，
C，D盘要稍微大一些，免得以后用pqmagic挪的辛苦，还要担惊受怕。

但我还是想陈述一下自己的意见。
我是规划的把一切软件装入软件分区，所以没考虑装了office后的系统盘空间。
另，我试了我这样的做法，总结来说，系统区并不是飞速或最终的发展的难以存放的肥大。---我知道会有东西放进系统区，在系统安装完毕后。

随便分它几个区，如果需要用MAGIC增区减区，改变大小呗，现在操这个心有啥用啊？
计划是没有变化快地！

zyg, it is really depending on your own need and it is up to you how to make the partitions, but keep in mind that you have to follow the rules below: (just in case you did not know already)

1: Win98 can not read NTFS. In order to enable your Win98 access all the contents on your hard disk, you have to use FAT32 for all the partitions.
2: FAT32 can manage up to maximum 32G for each partition.

However, I do not encourage you to have two OS systems. I suggest you to install WinXP only. For WinXP, you can choose FAT32 or NTFS. According to Hoyle, it is natural to choose NTFS. But my WinXP did not work well on NTFS, I do not know why. After several tries, I re-formated my HD and re-installed it on FAT32, it works perfectly thereafter. (Later I heard that one of my friends had the same experience.) Therefore I suggest you to install WinXP on FAT32. Then the following fact comes to effect: it is economy to have FAT32 partition up to 8G. It will waste a lot of capacity if you have FAT32 partition more than 16G. Thus I suggest you:

C: (16G) WinXP OS and all program files. (It took me 7G for them. Then you have some free space to install more programs.)
D: (16G) My Documents (including music, photo, and personal files, etc.)
E: (16G) Your favorite movies.
F: (16G) ...
G: (16G) ... (I do not know how big your hard disk is, but it is a good idea to use your last partition to save your ghost image for your C drive just in case disaster.)
