you can send email or fax to the dealer and ask them to give you a quotation. for example, if you want to buy a honda civic, you can fax to all civic dealers in Montreal and close region. after you get the most competitive quote, you can call them and ask them come to your place, pick you up to their dealership for further negociations. this is the most time effecient way to shop for a new car.
if you want to buy a second hand car, it is a totally different ball game, much more leg works and research.

oh, insurance premium are based on many factors, among many, it includes: experience, claim histroy, drving pattern (distance, driving route...). If you are a new driver, should be around 1,500 per year for a jap subcompact class sedan.
