when i was a kid, mom told me,"never accept candies from other people." i refuted her, "why not? they seem sincerely want me to have it, and i shall never say no to candies." "boy, you should look at your manners, good manner will make people like you more, and you can have the whole world in one day if you have proper manner."
thank you, mom. i remember what you told me, and today i eventually got your message.
christmas basket, soup kitchen, savation army.... are all for the less fortunate peopele, and we canadian have a tradition to show them our love and sympathy at this season. if you're short of cash, you shall take it with garce, nothing wrong with that. after all, you are just less fortunate than others. if you're new to this country and took those "gift" by mistake, don't worry too much, we all have made stupid mistakes. just shrug your shoulder and walk away. i don't believe they will delay your citizenship processing because you are not that rich. "people are all equal and should not be discriminated, our social service should never based on classfication." is cleared writen on the canadian constitution.
buy if you think "cheap", i mean you work on "cash" basis, you skip all tips , you never carry your wallet with you, you take whatever available basket home withouting asking what for.... then your soul is truely live in a very low level. god bless you. |
