All I want to say here is that if you want to build a professional network, that's fine, and I think that's perfect. I don't know if you guys know a website www.linedin.com which is a professional network connection with all the people you know in your field.
You could do something like that in order to build yours. However, I just don't like the limitation of top 500 companies only. For me that's crap.
If you are happy that you are in the waiting list, that's fine. Your choice. I am not here to judge.
For me, I don't want to in any of these kind of networks of yours.

我觉得networking很重要。我也愿意参加类似的活动。不过我觉得楼主的目的性太强了， 限制于500就更功利了。
个人观点，不要介意。:wink:

不过组织一个这样的group的确是一个不错的主意。大家可以多聊聊天，互通信息。

如果有这样的组织， 我一定参与。

我在一家小公司工作，还是很景仰在500强工作的国人。

let's ask her to remove that restriction.
you don't have to be nice, on the other hand being nice, specially being nice to somebody a little bit 'rude' shows your character, and it doesn't cost you anything (maybe a little bit of pride, and pride is not something good anyway)

限制500的确有歧视之嫌，不过愿意组织是要花一些精力的，斑竹也是不易的。
换句话，物以类聚，大家有共同背景，文化，话题也会多些。不过，何必要规定top500呢，montreal较大一些的公司其实差不多的。。。

I'm not surprise with all those comments, I was well prepared to accept these when I put msg on.

1, As I said " I do not discriminate pple in other companies. Just my limited energy and time do not allow me arrange big event. I would like to meet and share career information with more pple in the near future. Now i'm testing water. "

2, Yes there are lots of such organizations for professionals, I also joined some of them. (c.otherstuff : thank you for providing the website to us )
that's why I wanna limit my interested category of top 500, cuz I need some advices from pple who works in big corp also, I don't think its wrong point. I was working in a small company before, I found out big difference betw small and large corp.

3, I got many emails and thank you for you interested. I apologize that I didn't have time to reply but I do keep all your information in my email. I ll send a group email asap.

4, I wont remove this msg and I leave it here. I personal enjoy to read different comments.

One thing I don't understand you is that why you are so interested in replying the message?
and why you thought you were not qulified just because you are not working in top 500 companies?
and most important, why were you happy about on the waiting list?
Where is your pride? You should have some.

maybe i am lonely, maybe i have nothing better to do, as matter of fact, i reply everything enthusiastically if it remotely interests me.

as yokiko's restrction per ce, i am not qualified, i would not argue against the rule, however, i could argue for my merits, luckily i succeeded.

on or off the list, i am a happy person.

nowadays, i can keep my pride on check, which is a very good thing for me. in return i have peace with myself.

about "waiting list" , actually it's kind of joke with 圆明园, I found out hes easy goin person, so just say like that.
