突然发现塞车时，NEGINE的温度升得很高，正常行使时又恢复正常，怀疑是cooling fan或者是温控器的问题。

回家后发现，如果把钥匙放在ON的位置，不打火，cooling fan不转了，(记得以前是转)，比较我的另外一辆车，ON的位置，转，打火后，不转，我想温控器大概是打火以后才有控制作用，没打火(ON)的时候，fan应该都是转的，对吗？

如果我猜的是对的话，那毛病应该和温控器没关，希望是保险或电路问题：-)

好象听说cooling fan本身很少坏的，是吗？如果真的是cooling fan坏了，换起来要多少刀？

You can test coolant fan by directly splice it to battery. Like you said, it is not normal to fault. Usually, there is a part called "fan activate switch" tends to be fault, which senses the temnperature. You can drive the car until warm and open the hood and let the engine idle. If temperature reaches high mark and fan not on, then the switch may be bad.

Turning key to ON or OFF is not right way to test it.

what is the "reaches high mark ", if is it red line on the temp meter?

when very close to the red line. Acturally, it's pretty hard to reach red line unless rev the engine up to 6000RPM for a while or coolant system has problem.
