You should ask the technician first, if he is confident to weld, then do it. This way would save lot of money. If not, ask them to install an used radiator instead. About $200
Thank you Doncherry, I have changed a radiator, made of plastic, they charged me total $320, including tax, labour and radiator. But they said it is not brand new, but it is not used one, I have one year warranty, I do not know what they mean.
Before we say it is too expensive, we need to know the facts:
1) $? for the part (what quality is the part)
2) $? for the labor (what is the hourly rate and how much time required for the job)
--------------------------------------
= total amount
You can only comment by examing the fine details of the job - also you need consider the job quality when you make this comparison.
I have checked another garage that will charge me $400 with a brand new one before, so I decided to buy this service of $320. I did think the part was too expensive. What can I do now? Could you check the part like this for me, maybe I can negociate with the garage and get some refunds. Thank you for your help.
I think this is a fair price if the job quality is ok - you can not get refund after you have paid it.
If you are concerned with overcharging, you will need to identify some honest garages. APA has some recommended garages if you don't want to go to Phil Bailey's.
Thank you Folks, 冬,and DonCherry again.
But Folks, what does that mean (APA has some recommended garages if you don't want to go to Phil Bailey's.) you mentioned?
