I just bought a Pontiac Montana 2000. Some small problems:
1. Fule meter shows empty  but actually ths fule tank is full.
2. Remote keyless entry does not work even I change the Battery.
3. I see there is a Theftlock light flashing in my van, Does this means my van has the antitheft function?

The fuel meter inside fuel tank is fault. Expect $100 to fix or drive like that with caution.
2. Remote keyless entry does not work even I change the Battery.
You may need go to auto electronical shop like autopro, ask them check the module. Sometimes, it is as simple as a burn fuse.

Yes, this could be.

When the red light is flashing, in most cases, it is the engine start switch killer. Most GM minivan has this standard feature.

If you changed the battery, the remote still does not work, it means you have not activiated the remote control/engine start switch.

To activitate this, first look for the manual switch (red button) - check under the steering shaft... you should pull out the switch: press 3 times and then press the brake once (with key turned "on" but do not start the engine.)

Once this is activated, you will be able to use your remote control and arm your car. Otherwise, even if the light is flashing, your car is not armed.

Thanks very much for your kindly help.
But what is engine start switch killer? If I activate this, does it mean I need start the van after I use the remote locker. I can not use the key only.

This is how it works:

1) Assume your car is armed -- press Remote Controller once (the door button), the door is now open and the engine start killer is deactivated.

Now you can plug in your key to start the engine.

2) Assume your car is armed - you can remote start your car (but your car is still armed), press remote controller once (the engine start button). Once the car is started, you can then press the door button to open the door (this is useful in winter to warm up your car);

once you are in the car, you MUST plug in your key and move it to ON position. DO not drive without a key - this will damage your car and is dangerous as well.

To Arm and to lock:

3) After the car is parked, press the door button once, the doors will be locked and the engine start killer is activated - as simple as that.

Remeber: you must deactiviate your auto start fuction before sending your car for service or it would be very dangerous as the engine sometimes may start by itself.
