GIVE A CHANCE TO LET OUR COMMUNITY STRONGER
LILY CLUB FROM OF MY A POINT OF VIEW
Is this truly as some accused “听说那里是穷鬼大乐园?”
Actually, people all different, and meet different needs too. With different of quality life, people also looking for different level for enjoyment to have fun, have social life, meet new friends. With our financial situation, someone might spent a fortune and someone decide join with free of charge community activities (free activities in Montreal area may find from Google web search) to meet our needs according number of amount of money in our pockets. It’s quite normal and it’s not a good idea to use those type of words to accuse the people who join this club such as “听说那里是穷鬼大乐园?”; at least this is not a nice talk.
Yes, I agreed some point about Lily Club to sent flat e-mail, which someone are not expected, it bathers people, which also include myself. From very beginning, I was also don’t like the e-mail send to my mail box, but one day when one of friend of mine went over there and he told me it’s not bad, by then I brought my wife went to pay a visit and we had a fun.
One thing I hope people should understand that Lily Club is not a Non-profits organization. By this point, people who join this club have to realize that you have to spend some money at there if you wish to join. Since this is not a Non-profits organization, so people should not complain about the charges, otherwise you may just go to somewhere else you like to do so.
Of course, Lily Club should make clearly to let people know this club is not a Non-profits organization; by this way, people might give you better chances instead open this topic for complaints. With $5.00 for man and $3.00 for woman of the entry charge, I was also surprised from beginning since it’s little higher than regular club; but once I learned that Lily Club is not the owner of the bar, and it’s a certain amount have to pay off no matter people spend money order drink or not, I start to understand why.
Someone just posted that “听说那里是穷鬼大乐园?”; I disagree. My wife and I we both went to join a few times already, I found it’s quite normal like the others according a point of our view. We met a lot of nice people and some of them a quality, classic, gentle and friendly. Besides, it’s nothing wrong with the poor. Also, then what is the real mean of 穷鬼? What is the measurement regarding the 穷鬼? Do you mean spiritually or you just mean the amount of moneys in these people their pockets? If your mean only a matter of moneys, then you should remember everyone should get equally respect from the others.
Actually, from the day we born, and when the day come to leave at this world, God made very fairly: God doesn’t let us bring anything when we born; and God also doesn’t let us bring anything go with us when time we have to go. From this point, we should treat equally with everyone no matter the person is rich or poor, owns black or white or yellow skin, high educated or low educated; no matter for the religions, or the area came from, we should treat equally especially in our Chinese community in this area.
We should realize that we are all immigrants although someone even lived here many years already, since we are living with a completely different of culture and completely of different of language tools, we suppose more care about to respect, help and support each other since by the fact that we are own yellow skins which easily for the others to recognize somehow. I saw many topics at Sino-Quebec and other websites that people discuss about how to make our overseas Chinese stronger; I believe that might helpful for some people to release the angers.
Some people might still remember the Non-profits organization UNITED CANADIAN-CHINESE MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION (UCMA) a while posted on Sino-Quebec. Actually, this organization was born from my home based of SUNDAY DISCUSSION GROUP and the ideal is to establish a nurture Overseas Chinese Organization to provide services in order to united all type of overseas Chinese to support each other to avoid the discrimination with certain organizations although we are all Chinese just the matter of came from different of parts inside or outside of China with different of language speaks.
Though UNITED CANADIAN-CHINESE MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION (UCMA) registered with federal level since June 2003, but it just organized a few times of activities from the date we formed, then it got quite by itself. Why? There is two reasons infect UCMA make better function: one is the long waiting of the process from the government agencies although they wish to have such kind of organization to provide services to Chinese in the certain area which we applied; other reason because we don’t want to put any service charges include membership fees from our members.
But in this mostly money talks society, do anything needs some money to start otherwise you can’t do nothing. Although three of us who established this organization we did put some amount money to UCMA, but it’s very limited since there is no any other financial sources to support. By then we decided rather wait for the response from government before to provide more activities and services to our members and our Chinese community here.
Personally, I do believe Lily Club is not bad idea, given the fact that in these a few years, just in Montreal area, there are a few groups try to form some organizations, but till today, it’s not have someone really functioning and benefiting our community yet. So why we just give Lily Club one more chance since it at least provide a place to let our Chinese to have a better chance to meet people regularly, e same time, we also could release our mind to have some fun after the hard working. Especially with the different culture background, we all feel the same and found quite bored with our social life here, but don’t know we can go to; I am right?
The last thing I’d like to mention: This is just my personal opinion and which I have nothing related with Lily Club to bring a point to convince people whether join with this club or not (I am also have no idea how Lily Club found my e-mail address, but that is not really important to me anymore). My opinion is to hope Lily Club would try its best to provide better services to our Chinese community for the nearing future.
PS: You can unsubscribe their group emails if you don't like to receive e-mail from this club by the way.
Good Luck everyone! |
