Coupons

For the last year, everytime I need to buy toilet paper :p, I go and get my $1 off coupon from http://www.save.ca/.  Normally receive coupons within 1 week, EXPIRY are quite quick too .

The coupons change quite often, check and see if there's anything that u use.

Another good place to go to is http://www.redflagdeals.com/.  There are few different forumSS that u can check.  I got a free Razor from ~Scarlet Lounge's link to free P&G sample offers.  I needed the handle for Mr. MP :p.

Used clothes and furnitures

After all this years, at last I bought 1 jacket that I needed at $8 on PieXI.  Figures that I better do it before worrying too much about possible bed bugs that I may bring home. :frown:

Besides Salvation Army, most popular places:
http://www.valuevillage.com/
http://www.renaissancequebec.ca/fr/index.php

Link to an article which looks interesting: http://www.montrealmirror.com/AR ... GUI98/shopping.html

If any of u know where I can buy good quality winter sport jacket, such as Misty Mountain/etc. at deep discounts, please do let me know.   Ever since the clearance store moved from Mont Royal, I can`t find them anymore.

剪头发

There are 2 places in Chinatown for Hair cut at about $5+, one on Clark, NE of LaGauthetiere.  The other one inside the Chinese Building closer to MTR.

Besides ChinaTown, cheap haircuts are available at different Hair Cutting Schools.  In the old days, I went to one near Beaubien, can't remember name now.  Followings are 2 that I remember:

1.  Ecole de Coiffure Internationale Unisexes, 514-737-5200
4755 Van-Horne, Suite 107 (Plamondon MTR)

2.  Tornade L'academie de Coiffure
Ahuntsic, Plateau, Brossard, Trois-Rivieres, check www.tornade-coiffure.com
This one is more expensive, but 2 or 3 times a year, they advertise in local free newspaper for Hair cut at ~$5.

How this works? 0.04/minute to call anywhere on a payphone? how much minimum is the card?
Post by montrealpost;2195707
Many cheap:
Today, Bell charges $0.50 for using public Pay Phone. I use President's Choice prepaid long distance card (Provigo/Loblaw/Maxi), valid for 6 months, only charge the regular $0.04/minute, NO pay phone charge.
(Don't know if they will change policy.)

there are many clothing stores in Chabnel area, they often have sample sales
also there are many warehouse sales in VSL area, just check
http://www.sinoquebec.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=540059

If you are interested in getting a jacket under $10, besides the used stores, you can also pay attention to "bazzar". There are often information on Suburben paper
http://www.thesuburban.com/
the season espcially in summer or close to xmas there are often Bazzar very week. You can find really good deals especially in the end of the day. I went once every piece of clothes only for $5, no mater suit/jacket, pants or shirt, brand new and not bad brands. Spent $50 got a lot of things.

Now i am more into children's clothes sale, this week there are 2 warehouse sale.

Pick up payphone, DON'T put in $0.50, just dial their 1-866#, enter PIN#, enter e.g. 514-123-4567(can't remember if u need to + 1 :p , I do need to +011 for international).

If u only talk for 1 minute, they only take off $0.04. That's their rate for anywhere in Canada+US, a bit more for other countries.  $5 card minimum.  Mine is the Prepaid Long Distance cards on the left, [color="Red"]NOT the International on the right @ http://www.presidentschoice.ca/PCTelecom/DefaultTelecom.aspx

IMPORTANT: PC's official answer is "depending on individaul PayPhone", but I still believe it's a loophole.   We've been using the card in Montreal+Longueiul+~10 US/CDN airports at NO additional charge, all 4 cents a min.
