My car is mazda626 1991. The battery warning was on, later the stereo stopped working. The turning light on the panel dimmed.  The car lost power and stopped. After boosting, the engine runned for a while and stopped again. When the engine was running, I measured the voltage of the battery. The voltage decreased. So  I doubted the alternator was dead. But I was not totally sure. Could there be any other problem? If the problem is alternator, how much for changing it ? I found the rebuit one in canadaintire costs only $20. But they asked for one and an half hour labour. Can I do it by myself ? Thanks for your advice in advance.
