"The funk brothers" was fantastic on Sunday night.
The crowd was huge with estimate of 150,000,
filling up President Kennedy street from St. Urbain to Bleury.
A lot of number 1 hits of Motown were played.
The singers were in great form.
My friend and I got there late
but were luck to find a good spot to enjoy the whole show.
For tomorrow, July 6,
my friend's pick is TOMMY EMMANUEL
He saw him today and was very impressed.
Chet Atkins called this Aussie guitarist one of the best in the world. A former child prodigy and session player, he draws all manner of remarkable sounds from his guitar. After last year’s resounding success, when he left 3,000 fans breathless and sold out the entire stock of 400 albums he had with him, Emmanuel returns for back-to-back nights here. Experience him.

My picks are:
JOAN BENDER
This young New York jazz singer released Star Eyes, a debut album which has attracted plenty of attention and revealed an artist comfortable with jazz, cabaret and Brazilian music. All eyes will be on this rising star when she brings her trio to the Festival.

YERBA BUENA
All the coolest players in New York know guitarist Andres Levin. Aside from collaborations with David Byrne, Macy Gray, Marc Ribot and Roy Hargrove, he leads Yerba Buena, a nine-member rhythm factory fusing latin boogaloo, Cuban religious music, Afrobeat and mighty American soul. Prepare to be grooved.
