would hinder the learning of ballroom dance
because ballroom dance is a partner dance
while the others are solo dances.
I`ve heard this suggestion before
but I don`t know how true it is.
I would think that the posture and arm styling
learned from folk dance and ballet would help, not hurt, ballroom dancing.

For the people who are interested in salsa,
there is a dance school associated with Do-Re-Mi
and it offers salsa course.
The school is located in the basement of Do-Re-Mi.
Each salsa course consists of 5 lessons of 1 hour and 10 minutes long.
Bachata will also be taught in those 5 lessons.
Bachata is a nice slow dance,
which complements well the fast dance, salsa.

The last lesson of the current salsa course
will take place at 2:20pm this Sunday, Dec 14.
The new session will start again in early January.
You probably can go to see the last lesson
to see how the class is conducted.
Most dance schools usually let people watch on the sideline.
The teacher is also a DJ at Do-Re-Mi on Fridays.

这边的交际场合大多跳salsa. 很多健身俱乐部定时有班,还有教练领跳.是一种很欢快自由的舞蹈, 看老外随便扭一扭都很风情万种.今年爵士节请来著名salsa 乐队, place des arts 露天广场上随着20来万人尽情舞动的感觉很好.

以前教我的老师曾经拿过97年全国拉丁舞三项冠军.女老师告诉我她以前跳民族舞跳得很好,结果要花更多时间去改,又说了一些技术性的名词来解释,不过我对民族舞外行.
另外,我错过了上次的party,这次无论如何也要赶上,我提前报名.12月初我就提醒自己20号一定要有空.

  According to my friend,the dance course registration takes place only in September every year.You have to wait till next year and check the newspaper.
The people in the dance course will hold a Christmas dance party on December 26.
The dance is open to public
so you can attend too.

will take place at 2525 Pie IX street,
which is very close to Pie IX metro station.
The same organizers held a similar party
last Christmas in the Chinese apartment building
on St. Dominic street in Chinatown.
It was well organized, with great music and food.
The tickets are going fast
and are almost sold out.
