Unless your English, or Spanish,is good enough in addition to French. It will be very hard for you guys. Frankly speaking, though you learned French for many years in China, if you want to take translation as your"metier", you need to work hard to improve BOTH ENGLISH AND FRENCH. Otherwise, there will be no slim hope for you
to get survived.
Of course English is important, but here in Montreal most posts require bilingue other cities of Quebec need francophone. It's the specialty of Quebec.
So in Quebec, especially in Montreal, the most important language is french, then english, then spanish. My point, if you are not tend to find job here, its unreasonalbe to study frech unless you have aother motif. It depends on your profession and which job market you are looking for.
