It is called Pate de Foie in French and liver paste in English. You can find them in any supermarket, in the coldcut (eg.ham.....) section.
Pate de foies are also available in can. You'll find them on the shelf , of course.

Two completely different things.

Packaging: can / jar / regular packing/ cut to order / . . . .

Sold in: Some supermarkets(not good quality), Costco, delicatessen, I don't know how to describe delicatessen.

Not sure Bromont or somewhere else in Quebec, they are raising and stuffing geese for their livers too.

I MAY HAVE SEEN it in supermaket, not sure.  Even if they sell it, I wouldn't buy it there.  Even the ones from delicatessens on Mont Royal street arn't good.

A few times, friends gave me diff. varieties of Foie Gras, in cans directly from France.  I may have seen similar cans + glass jars in Costco.  I'm not sure about prices but definitely not cheap.

I think Sauternes is the traditional white wine to go with it.  Sorry, can't help u much.

我知道有一家在snowdon 跟cote de neige交界, 就是在大教堂附近,專賣法國麵包的, 裡面有得買,可是很貴哦

J'ai trouve foie gras d'oie dans provigo il y a quelques semaines, il etait reserve dans un refri. ca cout bcp plus cher qu'en France, 56$/300g, quand meme il etait tres bon...

我到觉得没什么好吃的, 前几个星期男友家里吃饭,他们买的那种好象要100多块加币,才一小条面包这么大.贵是满贵的,只是觉得多吃很容易腻的.我男友倒是个超级fan

鹅肝酱其实是用填鸭肝做的,以法国产的为正宗.但现在许多其它地方也产,价也比较便宜,就是味道不如法国产的好.如果不想去法国又想吃到较正宗的,可到蒙城许多正宗法国面包店去买,价很贵, 约50-60$一小瓶(150 g左右).

在法国,尤其是在圣诞节其间,可有很多选择, 价也稍便宜. Any way鹅肝酱就是吃得这个贵劲和口感,太便宜了往往不是正品.<O:p></O:p>

鹅肝酱应与一种特殊的棍子面包一起吃,可惜在蒙城找不到. (有吃家知道在哪有卖的请告诉一声,谢了.) 在这只能用一般的棍子面包代替了.

在法国可买到新鲜的或罐头装的鹅肝酱, 新鲜的口感好,罐头装的可放1-2年.<O:p></O:p>

好了,不能再写了, 再写下去,口水就要流的到处都是了.<O:p></O:p>

Central Market.

Not sure, might have been around x'mas or whatever, there were tasting.
U may want to wait till early Dec. when "everything for gifts" is out.  Or u can call Costco and ask them over the phone.  Think their stores and phone# listed on their website.  Costco.ca or costco.com.

我们去年在Jean-Talon市场里买到了，很贵，一块8厘米直径、15厘米长的要80块钱，应该是在一些类似国内“土特产商店”的商店里买，在Jean-Talon市场是在周围一圈卖肉的铺子里有，叫做Foi Gras（法语）。面包在Jean-Talon市场里有一家叫Pain Dore的面包铺，你问他们要配鹅肝酱的面包，是长条形，圆的，很松软的。

Pate de foi完全是另一码事，也就是肉酱而已，随便的超市都有卖，便宜的不到两块钱。

我觉得liver没有你们说得那么贵,至少不用一次付那么多钱买一整条，我在st-laurent上的肉食店买了好几次，做得像香肠的形状一样，没人一下买一根，就切一小段能花几刀呢，而且够吃啦。:rolleyes:

今年圣诞节犯了馋瘾，刚去买了一个小罐头，是130克，26刀。很美味。

面包用的是叫Pain brioche的面包。

最新消息，前天在Jean-Talon市场的Vrac Mercier里找到跟我在圣诞节前买的一模一样的鸭肝酱，很令人愤怒的事情是价钱比过节前便宜了10块钱，16刀，130克。我马上买一盒泄愤。前一盒是在西岛的Marche de l'ouest买的，就算是地区差价也不能差这么多，简直是明抢。

costco那种根本不能如口的,这种东西很肥的,不能多吃的,通常我们都只有过节才吃,是去饭店定做的,公婆副的钱,不知道具体价钱,只知道很贵. 所以还是买好一点的,吃的精一点
