请教各位买过dvd的朋友, 这边买的dvd是全区的吗? 不知道放映中国带过来的碟子有问题吗? 我听说这边的dvd只能放映美洲区(1区)的碟子, 对国内的6区碟没法放. 是这样的吗?

I bought one here which is not all region but can be modified to all region. I can watch disks of all regions.

我记得这么改来改去, 只能是6次, 最后一次就固定了. 您那个是可以无限制的改吗? 算了, 还是让人从中国带吧. 现在国内的机器才300多, 还送无线耳机, 而且把盘弄的很花都能看. 唉, 这鬼加拿大.

As far as I know, if you buy dvd player in big electronic stores like future shop, they are only good for North America (region 1). I bought one in toronto which is region free. I tried region 1, 2 (Europe) and 6 (China) dvd's and had no problem. This store is an outlet of Malata, a big DVD player manufacturer in Guangdong. The boss of the store told me it's region free although it's not written on the manual, which is illegle. The most important: Don't take it for granted that all dvd players in China are region free! I have friend in toronto who brought a player from china and cannot player region one dvd's.

The price of the Region Free and Dual power 110V/220V with RGB(normal CRT) output port? It's much better than S-Video and true Progressive Scan.

I saw some Malata DVD player in BRICKS selling cheap at CAD48 +Tax. Do you mean it's Region Free as well?

I will try to find my receipt and tell you  the address. I bought it almost two years ago and spent around 190 dollars. It has karaoke function, that's why it's this expensive. I believe if you buy it now without the karaoke, it will be below 100 dollars. I also saw cheap malata in future shop, radio shack and other electronic stores. I am not sure they are region free as well.
