It's true that research shows that red wine reduce cholesterol, but apprently liver problem is high in wine country like France. Do limit the amount of red wine intake, but then they are so delicious!!
As for vegetarian, there is something about mixing grains to create complete potein, see if u can find info. I can't remember the details and my cookbooks are all packed away. "Commensol" is a popular vegetarian resturant in Montreal. The first one was on St. Denis, one in downtown near McGill, one used to be at the corner of Cote des Neiges/Queen Mary, one on Mount Royal. I am not up to date with their outlets now.
