本人一个老笔记本:IBM thinkpad 600.  开机老有嘀的一声,在图书馆里挺烦人.请问如何去掉声音.

I haven't used the IBM laptop before,I just grep this topic and maybe you can try this command:
POST: (IBM DOS utility)
ps2.exe beep off

you can trype ps2 ? under dos to see its parameters.
