Hello everyone,

I am trying to run the Apache on my computer and here is the question:
I have webpage from one web server, say http://pages.infinit.net/~myname, which will run on pages.infinit.net. How can I make it point to my computer instead of on pages.infinit.net? Should I put something on pages.infinit.net to make it point to my apache server? Can I use the same domain name for on my computer? I don't think just changing the "ServerName" in httpd.conf on my computer is enough.

Thanks for any advise.

Best,

Xing

You need the main DNS svr to know the link of ur domain name and ur IP. but there are several firewalls, videotron didn't open the HTTP and FTP ports for the user out of the firewalls, u can try something like dns2go to set ur own DNS service, but only the ppl near to u (in the near blocks)can access ur HTTP or FTP service.
