Not bad if you considering the price and not very picking on the precise workmanship. It's solid, although some minor problems. Do a road test to get some feeling before doing an inspection.

If this Malibu equiped with 2.4l engine, then it will be same as Japs 2.4 Camry or slight more than 2.3l Acorda. Many people think Am cars cost more gas but forget Am cars might equipped with bigger engine for comfortability and heavy for safty.
There is not much difference between Am and Japs on engine tecnlology. They are all ahead of Korea or France, or whatever, but lag behind Germany.

To suprise you, the 3.8L engine from GM is of MOST efficient engine, which cost less gas than a 3.0L engine from Toyota. And this Toyota 3.0 engine excessivelly used in its Camary,Lexus and Seina mini Van.

If you have chance to rent a 3.8 Chev Impala or Pontiac Grand Prix, you will know how smooth this engine is.

So if it is 2.4L engine, cost is almost same.

Then, it is the same junk as the other American junks.

Try to stay away from American cars except Saturn cetain models (check out the listing from Phi Bailey's website or Lemon Aid-Used cars).
