Don't buy YEAST in supermarket. I saw friend's medium pack from Chinese grocery store, not sure, may be ~100g @ ~$1.XX. Great if u don't use much. Else it's about $3-5 for 1 lb. bag. PA used to sell that. SEARCH this web site for other locations.

还是没有天津包子面发的好。总是开锅后有几个皮皱的,也等了15分钟才开盖的呀。为什么呢?

我用YEAST发面,没有一次发的好的。当然是个人手艺不行。
我跑到COSTCO买的BAKING POWDER。用来作包子,感觉还不错,发的很好。
把BAKING POWDER搅在面里,活好5分钟就可以蒸了。没有YEAST那么多麻烦,当然这种发面方式可能不正宗,总比我吃死面的强。
