My picks of outdoor concerts on July 1
The folowing 2 outdoor concerts look interesting.
Worth checking out.
VICKY Y MASACOTE
Excellent Calgary singer Vicky Oveson has made numerous trips to Cuba, searching for music from that fertile island which has yet to reach North American ears. She and her band Masacote bring it back, along with the musicians who play it, for a Canadian tour stopping at our Festival. Expect a generous serving of latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms, with that irresistible Havana heat.

SUSIE ARIOLI
Welcome back to a Festival favourite, a swingin’ singer accustomed to sold out shows and enraptured fans. A great Montreal success story, Susie and her faithful collaborator, the brilliant guitarist Jordan Officer, add the recent That’s For Me to Pennies From Heaven and It’s Wonderful, already beloved for their effortless recreation of a classic era in jazz.
