If u r fired, u have no ui,but boss had to give u written letter to explain why. I u r laid off ,u may be qualified if you meet required working hours. Good luck

you can get your EI as long as you have worked at least 900 hours, no matter you have Record of Employment and letter from your boss or not.
Go to a Human Resource, fill out the form in which you will be asked the reason you don't have a letter.
