You sit by her bedside, holding her hands,
gently stroke through her hair and face.
Feeling her squeezing your hands and trying to say so much,
yet she had no ability to no more.
She was your little angel, she was your joy.
She was the one who'd hug you so tight and with such warmth,
that you never wanted her to let go.
Now as time goes by, you can feel her slipping away
You can see the pain in her eyes.
You can feel her squeezing tighter.
You have so much tears hiding inside, yet you must be strong
For she would want you to, for her and for yourself.
Another day has gone by, and another night you have spent by her bedside.
You wake up to see her eyes wide open,
with a peaceful smile,
with a drop of tear or two sliding down her frail cheeks
You can feel her squeezing even tighter
You can feel her heart crying out "I Love You, Mommy"
With another tight squeeze, she takes her last breathe
and let go for the last time.
You can feel her spirit rise.
You can feel the emptiness and great sorrow
Yet you are filled with happiness
For she knew you never let go
