This is built-in unspoken discrimination in the system.
On the surface, it is justice for all.

For insignificant matters, you might get a fair trial,
but when push comes to shove in serious matters,
you lose out all the time.

That is the case with vincent chin(陳果仁).
The killers literally get away with murder.

Even after 30 years later,
today the so-called court judgement for compensation is still not respected.
How can you call it justice for all?
And naive people actually believe in that "slogan"!

Regarding the case in the original post of "中美混血儿童的监护权 ",
let's change the ethnic orgins of the divorced couple,
for example, the father is Chinese American, the mother is non-Chinese American.

If the mother takes the kid to other country,
would the Chinese father gets such a "happy" ending
if he contacts the authority 20 minutes before the mother flies off with the kid?

If you think the Chinese father would get the kid back, dream on.
The chance is very slim.

If you don't believe, try it out.

Of course I wish that the American/Canadian society is fair and just
because we all live here and surely hope that it is the case.

However the reality is not quite so rosy.

For the moment, look into just a few areas:
1. School.
School admission rate.
ie. Chinese/Asian quotas in ivy league universities;

SCA5 issue in California.

2. job promotion.
Glass ceiling/Bamboo ceiling refers to the barriers faced by Asian-American professionals when trying to reach leadership roles in the  workplace.

3. The legal system.
Exemple: the case of vincent chin(陳果仁).


Look around more,
understand the issues in the society,
read between the lines of the news,
then you will see that
it is not quite as "fair and just" as we are led to believe.

If you choose not wanting to know,
choose to believe that everything is hunky dory,
well fine, continue to do so.
It is your life.

I presented my facts, cases, links and view points about the American society.

Have you presented any facts and cases to counter my arguments?
So far, you have only presented diatribe(謾罵) without with logical points.

Are you capable of formulating r[color="blue"]ational, clear-headed, carefully-thought-out arguments?
Or perhaps spouting diatribe(謾罵) is the best that you can do.
Or perhaps your ability of reasoning is quite limited.

If one claims the American system is fair and just,
then how do you explain the various problems now and the past
that happen under such a system?
Just a few examples relevant to Chinese/Asian Americans.
ie.

• Chinese/Asian quotas in ivy league universities;
  
• the proposed SCA5 which is unfair to Asian Americans;
  
• Glass ceiling/Bamboo ceiling refers to the barriers faced by Asian-American professionals when trying to reach leadership roles in the workplace;
