请问两件事，一是由VCD 转存入计算机，国内叫“图象捕捉卡”。有内置和外置两种。不知这里有卖的吗。我问了FUTURSHOP说没有。另外本市有否做这种转换生意的商店。如哪外位知道请告知。

firstly, you need to connect your pc video card with the vcd or dvd player through s-video cable, and the sound card with the player sound output. to do so, you need:
1) a sound card with the s-video port
2) your vcd or dvd player should support s-video
3) if you don't have audigy sound card, you may need special sound cable.
then, you need the software to to the recording, i use power vcrII.

谢谢两位先生的关心,冤我的问题没有提清楚,造成两位的误解,我的问题是:由摄像机上摄下的带子(如VIDEO 8 的小带子或大带子)要想将它的图象和声音转录入我的PC,在由PC转录到光盘,所需的卡.我指的就是这件事.

It depends on ur videocamera.

If it is a digital one and has USB interface, u can transfer it to ur PC by software as AVI format, then u can convert it to mpeg and burn it on ur CD-ROM.

If it is a digital camera without USB, u have to buy a card called firewire 3971. It allow u do the same thing as above.

Otherwise, u can buy a capture card like other people mentioned.

wrong, wrong, wrong.
--firewire called IEEE 1394, or Ilink(by sony). its an technology develped by apple computer. it transfers data at roughly 400mbps, not as fast as usb 2.0 though, but 30 times faster than usb 1.0.
--all minidv camcorder using firewire port
--if you use other video format, like v8, vhs..., you need a av interface card connecting your comcorder to your pc, because its not digital, you will lose quality when doing the transfer
--only the most recent pc comes with the firewire port... you can either have a audigy audio card which comes with firewire port or to a buy firewire PCI card.

for video editing, you can use pinnacle's studio version 7 software... it can auto detact your video input source, help you do the video editing and you can encode it on avi, mpeg, media player or real player format.
