Not sure if anybody from West Island could help your friend out. But I know all ladies I know of in West Island have their own families. Probably you might as well try some churches with a lot of Chinese being present, or "single clubs" linked to colleges or universities in Montreal.

西岛的朋友们--

到目前为止，我已经收到八封EMAIL确认本星期六的聚会。加上我自家和其他朋友带来的家庭，估计会有十二到十六家人相聚。住西岛的中国家庭当然远非这个数字。这一次聚会的目的主要是大家相互认识认识。以后，我们还可以考虑定期搞一些聚会，有娱乐的成份，更有工作和生活经验的交流。在相互尊重各自独立生活和思维方式的前提下，大家还可以走的更近些，团结互助。象犹太人和意大利人社区一般，通过各自事业的成功和良好的公众服务意识加上文明修为来赢得社区的尊重。要知道，团结起来，我们的选票，如已入籍，也是会有相当影响力的哟。当然，我们不鼓励搞什么北美的中国次文化小圈。既鼓励熔入本地主流甚至上流社会，还不妨保持某种东方人的优雅本色，尤其是现代文明认同的优秀部分。

原打算请来自大连的姜彬先生席间为大家演奏几所手风情曲子。他的“祖国的生日”，“卡布里岛”，“鸽子”...非常动听。无奈Vichy不容许这么做。等到夏天户外活动时，再作打算吧。或许，如多数人有兴趣，还可以邀请遍布满地可的中国才子才女们，朗诵他们自己的散文作品。不怕人笑话，我确实曾为发布在sinoquebec网站上的Miao Ren的“妈妈为你跳个舞”深深感动。Rosewiththorns的“随心儿漫步”也给人带来别样的意境。

期待作星期六的见面。

By the way, many thanks to MengMeng, Sinonet and Summum .. your suggestions are appreciated. As  Downtown said, this time let us just fix Vichy at Pointe Claire, close to Fairview shopping mall, we would probably consdier other options next time.
